I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but recently I've heard more detail about the so-called Apollo hoax, which is the claim that US astronauts never actually landed on the moon, but that instead, the astronauts orbited Earth for 8 days while NASA played pre-recorded footage from a sound stage (possibly set up at Area 51). Crazy stuff, I know. And I'm still not on board.
I do have to give credit, though, to some of the arguments made in support of the hoax theory based on the photographic and video evidence from the moon landings. One site I found is here: Alien-UFOs.com. The site shows lots of images and video and what you're supposed to be seeing and what the images actually show. Interesting.

All of this "photographic evidence" is quickly found to be explainable or even evidence FOR the apollo landings once one delves into it a bit more. I could address every single photo, but for the sake of brevity I'll just touch on some of the bigger issues. The flag moves because the astronaut is still planting/touching the flag in that picture - vibrations through direct contact still function even in a vacuum. Jump real hard and you'll shake objects on your desk not because of the air in the room, but because of the floor, same story here. The pictures with the LM in front of the hills and then the hills without the LM there is actually proof that this wasn't filmed in a studio; the pictures were taken at a good distance apart which had the LM out of the view in one picture. The hills are actually much further away than the LM, but you can't tell because there's no atmospheric haze on the moon to use in gauging distance. If you put the pictures side by side, however, and cross your eyes to cause the mountains to "overlap" in your vision you'll see a 3d photo of the mountains; this is because of parallax and proves the moutains are real and very distant. In fact, this accidental stereo image effect is some of the best evidence against the hoax theory, but a hoax believer will never tell you that. An example of this effect from a different mission but with identical circumstances (LM in one picture, not in the other, same hills in the background) can be seen here, put side by side for 3d viewing. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a314/Messierhunter/as156.jpg
